I don’t know either

  • Trashed Idea – Scuba Scooter

While the functional approach of this device isn’t necessarily bad as it provides the disabled and like the opportunity to explore the seas where they otherwise would be prevented from doing so. However, practical application and laws of humanity insist that fat lazy people will now rent these out rather than swim for themselves.

It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who has trained their dog to respond to an irrational phrase, though I think this guy definitely one-ups my trick.

  • Your WTF for the day – I-Doser

Um. So I stumbled upon this and put in some due diligence to see how fake this is. From what I could gather, it’s more of a placebo effect than anything else, though people often claim for much more impacting effects. To quote:

I-Doser for the PC is the most advanced computer application available to achieve a simulated mood or experience through the use of binaural beats. Use I-Doser to play doses purchased through the I-Doser Store. Each dose is scientifically designed to give you the optimal measure of pure beats safely and effectively to induce state. Every download of the I-Doser application includes two free doses.

Basically, the ability to feel euphoric from intricate patterns using beeps and hiss being played in your ears. There are a lot of videos out there on it, both confirming and debunking the effects, and while I don’t pretend to take a stand, I find the whole ordeal Trashed Idea worthy. Silly humanity. • Fact Check: Chicken and Egg. Who came first?

According to a some British people, the chicken.

The research comes from British scientists out of Sheffield and Warwick universities. It all boils down to one protein—ovocledidin-17 (OC-17)—that is only found inside a chicken’s ovaries, and is essential for eggshell formation.

Although the protein has been studied as part of eggshell development before, researchers used a super computer to ‘zoom-in’ while a shell was forming, and found that it actually serves as a catalyst. Sheffield Professor John Harding hopes that this will aid in designing new materials.

  • Trashed Idea – The Private Bench

I would like one of these. It’s like the iron maiden of sitting and having one would fulfill my childhood desire of owning a coin-operated video-game.
