Role Model – Vi Hart

Her name is Vi and she likes to doodle and happens to be a bit of a math nerd at the same time. She’s made multiple entrancing videos combining her artistic flair with interspersings of math theory that are all thoroughly enjoyable. In this video she shows us 3 different types of doodle games.

Your WTF for the day – Military dolphins

It seems strange that military dolphins even exist, much less that their is a Wiki page for them. Of course there are many examples of animals being used during war time. But the best part has to be the link to an old 2000 BBC article entitled “Iran buys kamikaze dolphins”.

Dolphins trained to kill for the Soviet Navy have been sold to Iran – but what they will do in the Persian Gulf is a mystery.

Dolphins and other aquatic mammals were trained by Russian experts to attack warships and enemy frogmen, but when funding for the project ceased, many were moved to a private dolphinarium to perform for tourists.

Too Much Time – 111 Paintballs

I tend to avoid posting material from the group twice. I figure if you were interested in seeing all the shenanigans one group gets into you would subscribe to their channel or something on your own. However, this group of South American fellows that seem to go by Nao Salvo has made it on Trashed 4 times now. Real life squirtle, cheap hair cut, pee hookah(currently broken vid) and now a video of them shooting one of their buddies with 111 paintballs while he’s shirtless. Warning, not for the feint of heart. His chest ends up looking like a Hollywood shotgun wound by the end.

Your WTF for the day – Hand Model obsession

Seinfield had an episode where George was made a hand model. This was the only insight I’ve ever had into the world of hand modeling until now. I always thought George was neurotic but this woman takes the cake (but not with her hands).

Pimp That Site – Clitoraid

While I understand the serious nature that this fundraiser addresses, it’s name and approach are worth a double-take. The site looks to sanction enough money to build the first Pleasure Hospital, dedicated to the restoration and reconstruction of female genitalia that are mutilated from a number of circumstances. Based in Western Africa, the hospital is aimed at helping countries that still allow FGM (female genitalia mutilation) and they have a program they dubbed “Adopt A Clitoris”.

Perhaps “Adopt a Clitoris” is shocking for you. But what could be more shocking than the mutilation that these women have experienced?
It’s with great hope and enthusiasm that the women of Africa continue to support the “adopt a clitoris” campaign. We hope that this campaign (which some may consider shocking) brings this abhorrent reality to the public’s attention so that it may finally stop.
With over $100,000 donated already, it seems to be working.
