I don’t know either

  • Fact Check – Ringtone improvements

Apparently someone in Japan is working on using ringtones to subliminally alter emotional levels and physical attributes, which include but are not limited to breast sizes.

  • Fact Check – Mechanically Separated Chicken

Hiding all this behind the jump to save your stomach. It’s really not that bad if you don’t mind picturing the meat from chicken nuggets, hot dogs, slim jims, and more as a pink plastic foam. This will probably destroy any desire for processed chicken ever again.

  • Fact Check – Spreading gonorrhea

    Ahem.

U.S. government medical researchers intentionally infected hundreds of people in Guatemala, including institutionalized mental patients, with gonorrhea and syphilis without their knowledge or permission more than 60 years ago.

The researchers were trying to determine whether the antibiotic penicillin could prevent syphilis infection, not just cure it, Reverby writes. After the subjects were infected with the syphilis bacteria — through visits with prostitutes who had the disease and direct inoculations — it is unclear whether they were later cured or given proper medical care, Reverby notes. While most of the patients got treatment, experts estimate as many as a one-third, did not.

Apparently Hillary Clinton is going to apologize on the our behalf. More of the article here. Yaaaay America.

  • Tasty Jams – Chicken Fried Lady

As many of you know, I love me some chicken. And while this song doesn’t come close to beating the former anthem, I am in support of any ridiculous videos that share some chicken love.

  • Role Model – Secily

I didn’t know Steve Harvey was taking over Family Feud these days, nor did I think you could ever catch him off-guard. Well Secily manages to in 2 seconds flat.

  • Trailer – True Grit

It’s not often that someone decides to remake a John Wayne movie, but the Coen Brothers decided to do just that and bring an all-star ensemble with them. Jeff Bridges assumes the role of the one-eyed sherriff and Matt Damon his side-kick in this gritty reboot to the original movie that brought us Rooster Cogburn.

  • A Biased Review – The Social Network

I managed to catch this film on opening weekend, a rarity for me. I hadn’t heard much about the film until about a week before it’s release and was surprised by what I did hear. Out of 40 reviews on Metacritic, 30 of them gave the film a 100%. I couldn’t believe a movie about Facebook could do that. It’s less surprising when you see the faces behind the film. David Fincher of Se7en and Fight Club fame directed it and Aaron Sorkin who wrote West Wing and A Few Good Men. I went in with low expectations and facing a win-win scenario. If the film was good, I could at least be happy to know Fincher and Sorkin could make gold out of an otherwise crappy premise, and if it was bad, I wouldn’t be surprised because it was a film about Facebook.

  • Tasty Jams – Jurassic Park: The Musical

So apparently this was the month of musicals. I’ll admit I have no idea who would put this on or even write this, but it’s something. It’s a bit long for Trashed Ideas, clocking in at about 75 minutes between the three videos, so I would recommend getting some popcorn for this adventure.

  • Role Models – Street Fighter High: The Musical

Now this fan-made series started off as a parody drama that didn’t really do to well. It did some fan-service but the acting and plot were a little much to bear. However, this setting suits the entire crew much better. Nothing makes much sense but characters are given their fair amount of screen time. If you enjoy the first, be sure to check out part 2 below the cut, where you get to see Dan do the Jay and Silent Bob scene from Clerks 2.
