Portland Mercury Magazine Cover contest
So Portland Mercury, an indie magazine in Portland, held an online poll for what should appear on their latest issue’s cover. Well, leave it to the internet to create something you never knew you would want to see. Via. For those who are still confused, it’s Betty White holding a flaming chainsaw while riding a centaur John Ritter.

Pimp that Site – Most Awesomest Thing Ever!
It was bound to happen sometime, so it’s no surprise that there is now a site dedicated to the comparison of all things on their awesomeness. The site is a bit over-the-top and a resource hog, so expect it to slow your machine down, but it pits random things against each other one-on-one, and to the victor go the spoils of rank. When I looked the internet was appropriately #1, but go vote for yourself. You can also suggest your own awesome.

Not to be one-upped by the dogstache, an accessory company has developed the carstache. For a mere $40, this stache comes in a few different colors. Can be bought here.

Trashed Idea – Shark Fin Ice Cubes
A while back I posted the Gin and Titonic, ice cubes shaped like the Titanic. Now there are accompanying shark fins.

Your WTF for the day- Clown Stalker for Hire

Dominic Deville stalks young victims for a week, sending chilling texts, making prank phone calls and setting traps in letterboxes.
He posts notes warning children they are being watched, telling them they will be attacked. But Deville is not an escaped lunatic or some demonic monster. He is a birthday treat, hired by mum and dad, and the ‘attack’ involves being splatted in the face with a cake.
‘The child feels more and more that it is being pursued,’ said Deville. ‘The clown’s one and only aim is to smash a cake into the face of his victim, when they least expect it, during the course of seven days.’

Your WTF for the day – The Ross Sisters
What starts out like any normal 40s family doo wop group turns strangely into a precursor to Cirque Du Soliel. In all honesty they do perform so pretty neat tricks and sing a song about Potato Salad. What’s not to love?

Don't save the princess
Don’t Save the Princess is done by Studio Joho. Dan goes through the motions we all have come to expect from a video game to save the girl… and then some. Thanks to Brit and Teresa for the find.

Pimp that Site – Instants!
We all find ourselves quoting the famous lines from movies, games and media in general to fill in the dull moments of our lives. We’ve all found ourselves doing our best impersonation of Mario or Chewbacca, but it doesn’t always cut it. Now you can enjoy calling these sound-bits using these simple buttons! Go here and enjoy being able to play Hallelujah upon any epiphany or play the sad tuba when you drop your sandwich on the ground.

Trashed Idea – Bottle Tops
Because we just can’t be expected to deal with normal soda tops.
