Trashed Ideas

I don’t know either

  • Last Day Dream

So this is a film I found that was part of the “42 Second Dream” Film Festival that took place this year in Beijing, China. I think it’s a wonderful idea for a film, giving amateurs a real chance at exposure. This film in particular was done by a man named Chris Milk and explores the phenomenon of the “life flashing before your eyes” in a very emotional and human way. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

  • Amazing photography

A man named Clarke Little recently went to multiple beaches to try to photograph the art of a wave. Using a high quality camera, he took incredible shots of waves just before their crash. I know people have seen things like this before, but let this first image show you that this is unlike the rest. You can see the rest here.

  • Your WTF for the day – Japanese Bass!!

But once again, the internet never fails. Here is a Japanese man playing bass extremely well. The rest is eye candy.

Mmmm. I like that white outfit, but why don’t you try putting on a leotard. A black one. And feel yourself up a bit. Now lay on the bed. Thrust your hips in the air. Oh yeah. Boy, this workout has gotten my tired. Why don’t you slip into a maid’s outfit? While you’re at it, get some milk. Lots of milk. Now drink. DRINK I SAY! (I wish this was unrelated to the video…)

  • Let's talk religion just for a bit

So I’m a fairly open christian. I don’t believe the point of spirituality is to go out and tell someone else they are wrong. I believe it’s a uniting force and common ground that everyone should be able to share. I mean spirituality is in just about any activity. The spirit of the Lord, the spirit of the game, the spirit of the hunt, the spirit of us all. To have spirit isn’t exclusive to religion, and I don’t feel like these are separate contexts of use. I believe this same spirit has the same meaning in all of those situations. It’s the spirit. (more…)

  • Puppy love?

So my brother just got a new puppy. That brings our family up to 5 with my parents being the only ones without animals now. It seems curious that everyone in our family got an aggressive breed, (1 half pit bull, 3 full pit bulls and a boxer) and even more curious that we all got the opposite gender (the boys got girls and my sister has the only male dog). In celebration, I found a video of some doggy love, and it makes me giggle because Ginger behaves very similarly to my dog Boo (although Boo is much gentler than this dog appears to be). Enjoy.

  • Trashed Ideas – Dethclok baby brands

Just to give you an idea. Click the link for more ridiculous baby toys. Now this isn’t actually endorsed/created by Dethclok or anything like that, but I feel if they were to pursue baby products, this is what we would end up with.

And this marks the beginning of what I call weekly Trashed Ideas. Things that don’t need to exist but someone felt should. This will range from today’s products to patents to devices from old. One of the few projects I wanted to get started for the website. Here’s hoping for consistency.

This is a minor taste of the movie I witnessed the other night. A proper review and some great clips later.

  • Tennis and Heat waves

I suck at tennis, but this is funny.

On an interesting note, temperatures rose to 103 degrees in Seattle, Washington today. Why is that interesting other than it’s Seattle in the triple digits? Microsoft’s headquarters are in Washington. I heard from an insider today that apparently their HVAC, that is their AC for the server rooms, couldn’t handle the heat. They had to start turning off entire farms of servers to prevent damage. I’m not sure the numbers and I couldn’t find an article on it, which isn’t surprising, but I did laugh at the fact that even this giant isn’t above Mother Nature. Ha!

On a sadder note, John Hughes died today. If you don’t know who John Hughes is, I dare you take a look at his IMDB and tell me he didn’t impact you in some way. His movies spoke to our generation better than most.

I think that is all. More later.
