  • Best Neuroscience study guide ever

Now I know what you’re thinking. What would I do with a study guide to nueroscience? Why would that interest me? I have an answer. The answer is…

IT’S FULL OF KITTENS! Yes, a study guide to neuroscience that involves cats. You may be shaking your head at this, but keep in mind, when that machines take over the world, the internet will be filled with two things. LOLcats and porn. Full study guide (and more cats) here.

  • Your seriously WTF of the day – Wow, a Talking Fish

Sadly, this is the title of the video. It’s an Armenian tale, spoken in russian, translated in english. It’s more or less their trippy “Alice In Wonderland” from the 60s and it’s one of the more terrifying videos I’ve seen. If you can make it through all of it, I’d be impressed.

  • We Love xkcd

This is definitely going to be my biggest post day, and while some of that is procrastination, a lot of this really did drop in the past 3 or 4 days. Anywho, this is a spoof of the Discovery ad called, “I Love the Whole World“, which is adorable in it’s own right. However, I think all you readers can agree that we love xkcd and as such this video is amazingly appropriate. Enjoy.

  • 3D – The Lady & The Reaper

I found this on a Spanish website, and apparently this was co-produced by Antonio Banderas. It’s a light-hearted comedy about a woman whose time has come until a doctor brings her back. Death disagrees and hijinks ensue. While the laughs aren’t original, the video is a lot of good silly fun.

  • Massive Attack – Splitting the Atom

Now I’m not the biggest Massive Attack fan. I think they have made some good music, and while I have never been that enthralled by that genre of music, I always knew they were a little stranger than most. This video is a perfect example of that. It’s a good combination of slow and minimal rhythms telling a story with intriguing visuals on top. And yes, there is a big picture towards the end. It’s pretty crazy.

  • Trashed Idea – Blood Pillow

So, this is a hand embroidered pillow, with blood stains. While I’ve seen similar pillows, this is by far the messiest style. Also, this beauty will set you back $325. If only Tarantino knew he could make money off of his displays of carnage. Can be bought here.

  • Crazy Pool Table

I’m in a posting mood, so sue me. I saw this a while back and didn’t think it was really post-worthy, but since I know someone who recently got a pool table, I figure it’s worth a mention. Check out this badass projection-based pool table.

  • Happiness

Normally I wouldn’t post any of these infographs, as they are obnoxious. As a person who understands graphic design and enjoys random bits of trivia, you would think I would like them, but I always walk away feeling like my brain should have just absorbed some useful information and in the end I always walk away having completely forgotten all the information on the chart and instead find myself wondering what makes the internet truly a useful contraption. And that train of thought always ends in porn.

All that to say, I do enjoy this very simple infograph.

  • Pimp that Site – Putting Weird Things in Coffee

Yet another one of those sites I had no idea could exist, this man is dedicated to his cause. I’ve only read a few, but it is pretty hysterical to read some of his attempts. My personal favorite has to be blue cheese.

As soon as my lips hit the coffee, I knew it wasn’t going to end well. It was a multi-step experience; the top layer of curdled blue cheese had a sour taste that hurt my tongue. Then the actual coffee broke through and added some earthy bitterness. I forced myself to swallow, but now I’m regretting it, because it’s been half an hour since that sip and both the taste in my mouth and the feeling in my belly resemble having just gotten my guts forcibly ripped from my body, through my mouth.

All in all, I don’t recommend putting blue cheese in coffee.

Yes, the man puts the ingredients in and like a true connoisseur of coffee, he tries all his experiments. Check out his blog for more.
