  • Your WTF for the day – Sex Offender Shuffle

    This is a parody of the Super Bowl Shuffle from way back. It’s not real, despite everyone’s best effort at being the awkward pedophile they were portraying. I like the idea though.

  • Role Models – Zipster

    You may have caught this a while back, but I found the bastard again and it’s totally worth mentioning. Zipster has quite a few YouTube videos, over 80 of which he is dressed up as his alternate persona – Loco Mama. I think all anthro majors should have to spend a certain amount of time surfing the crappy parts of the internet to get a full grasp on the human species. This is a prime example.

  • Just about finished…

    So I’ve been making minor changes to the site all month and I think I am just about finished. I’ve added a Classics section on the left that has select videos and links that I really enjoy. If you look on the tabs above, you will see I’ve added a Favorites. Clicking that will take you to a page with Cooliris Express, which has most of the videos posted on Trashed Ideas, and lets you surf through them with ease to find the video you want. I will be going back and tweaking some of these things, and I will be adding a search box so people can search for the video they want.

    Let me know what you think. Any feedback is appreciated.

  • Pimp that site – Bart's Blackboard

    So I’m not sure how many readers are Simpson’s fans, but someone has started to archive all of the blackboards that come up during the opening sequence for the Simpsons. Obviously not all of them have this, the longer episodes launching straight into the show, but it’s still a pretty neat project.

    And while we are at it, why not all of the couch sequences for Simpsons?

  • Animation – Sebatian's VooDoo

    Found another cool animation. This was done by a Canadian who submitted it into the Cannes Short Film festival. The textures and modeling are all pretty well done, with my only complaints being sound and the movements bothered me just once or twice, but otherwise a choice piece.

  • Pimp That Site – GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle

    www.GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle.com is a small project started by two guys. In today’s world of information technology, you can never retreat enough information. While some people like to keep 200 tabs open, others might seek a more simplified approach. Enter, Goog4 (as the developer’s call it). It’s a small javascript using iFrames to create 4 browsers of Google.com, from which you can enter any four things and search. There are still a few technical difficulties they are overcoming, but it’s a pretty neat service all in all. Check it out and maybe you will think of something to search for requiring four different entries.

  • Your WTF for the day – Falling Polar Bears

    So that’s not the name of this video. It’s an odd reminder about global climate. I’m not sure I like where the latest global warming ads are going. I know that they want it to be taken seriously, but at what point does the shock treatment neutralize the intended effect. I think it does here. (more…)

  • Trashed Idea – Pop-Up book of Phobias

    I have a few different phobias myself. I am slightly claustrophobic as well as apiphobia, which is a fear of bees. This is fun and crazy at the same time. I would love to see someone give this book to a person with some of these fears, just to see the reaction. The fear of heights is really well done.
