Zoom Quilt
So Zoom Quilts are a neat project. They’ve been around for a while on computers, and the one I’m referencing dating back to 2007. I really enjoy the concept of the zoom quilt. Drawings that have no start and no finish. A seamless blend of artistry that flows through a crazy environment, at least in most. This one was done by a random grouping of people and works pretty well. Use the slide in the top-left to determine speed. I do enjoy the Donald Duck drawing also. See if you can find it.
Unfortunately, I can’t embed. Have to follow the link.

Your WTF for the day – Circle board
Arist Mark Gonzalez was tired of the standard skateboard. Sure there are a few variations of boards, but none that quite suited him. So, he built his own board he calls the Circle Board. Below is a video of an actual skater, Anthony Pappalardo, trying to ride the monstrosity. Stick around to the last 5 seconds and you can see Mark himself riding the board with ease and style, cigarette in mouth the whole time.

Role Models – Christopher Walken Pokerface & more
So I’ve seen a bit of good spoken word lately. Not actual poetry, mind you, unless you consider the ramblings of Lady GaGa, Sarah Palin and Levi Johnston poetic. I have a few videos to post here.
You may have already seen this one, it’s been circulating rather rapidly. Christopher Walken does a reading of Lady GaGa’s Poker-Face that is just phenomenal. But that’s Christopher Walken for you.
Next two on the list are from the master thespian William Shatner. The first one here is a reading of Sarah Palin’s speech. This was from a while ago, July I believe, but didn’t gain too much notoriety. Unfortunately, this is verbatim what is written. Sigh, she was almost vice-president. Crazy republicans.
Lastly, a reading from Shatner again, this time highlighting Levi Johnston, which a quick google search will tell you he is the almost son-in-law of Palin, the one that got her kid knocked up and then parted ways. This is a small sampling of his twitter feed, again going unaltered.

Surprise starting next week…
I realized I am actually in tune with another fun crowd. I decided that I will put this interaction to good use. Starting next week, expect a new weekly update. But of what? You will have to wait and see.

Your WTF for the day – Beauty Smile Trainer!
It is not too often I feel remorse for posting things. Hard to believe this is one of them, but this makes me cringe inside a bit. As if smiling needed any training. Also, doesn’t the creepy grandma staring at her freak you out?

Whoooa!
So through some sort of luck I have managed to resuscitate the site from near-death! Allow me to explain what happened.
I originally had the site name trashed-ideas.com. Well I forgot to renew the domain name and it ended up getting taken. They wanted $80 for the site name back. So instead, I went with www.trashed-ideas.com/. I left everything alone for a while, but recently decided that I wanted to go ahead and remove the domain name trashed-ideas.com from my list. I only have two domain slots with this provider. So, they took the .com out and made .net the new main site. Well, this broke everything. All the WordPress connections were broken. It was pretty terrible since I couldn't work on it until I got home.
As soon as I got home I started cranking, and was copy/pasting everything in a desperate hope that it would fix everything. While in the middle of all this, suddenly the site, my FTP and admin screen all lock up. It cost $10 to make the change for the .com to .net and apparently they had an old credit card. Well when it came back declined, everything shut down completely. Instead of having a busted site I had a broken site. You now know the difference between the two.
But, while I am still fixing a few things, it looks like we are back to functional. Here's hoping there are no more scares.

Cool video – Strawberry Swing by Coldplay
I know a lot of people who don’t care for Coldplay. They seem to be one of those “love-em/hate-em” bands. Regardless of how you feel about this song, which I find pretty personally, this music video is creative and interesting to watch both from a 3D aspect and from a meta-physical aspect. Enjoy.

Trashed Idea – LED Eyelashes
Ready for another crazy Asian trend? Try these! Apparently you can turn them on and off by tilting your head and the lights will actually follow your movement based on some intricate inclination tracker.

Your WTF for the day – Ventriloquist Choir
Pretty weird. Also weird, Conan O’Brien’s name pops up during it. But it appears to be a foreign show. Just all around strange.

Losing your head stop motion
This is a pretty neat one. I’ve seen lots of stop motions, but this one is neat in particular because rather than moving a single piece of art per picture, the guy drew all the animated bits on papers that he just unfolds. It adds it’s own level of story-telling and gives a closer insight into what exactly it took to make the video. Plus, a guy gets his head kicked around a few times. Pretty awesome.
