Role Model – Halloween Class
A math teacher decides to do a special class for his students on Halloween. It’s pretty obvious that the teacher worked on it without any help, but does a good job of really giving something extra in his class. Definitely signs of a fun teacher.

Your WTF for the day – Body farms
My previous entry was deleted thanks to some crappy internet that I’m on. Or a crappy computer. One or the other. Anywho, this is apparently a state-funded and legal project that goes on now. The on in the video I believe is in Knoxville, TN and is apparently the oldest, but there are prospects of building one in every state now. They purpose of acres filled with decaying corpses seems rather self-explanatory. They want to see how bodies decompose, and what kind of effect the environment can have on the corpses. Regardless, pretty creepy stuff.

Robotic Hand That Feels
Now that the random garbage is out of the way, something that I feel is a wonderful break through. It seems a team has been developing a prostetic hand that can feel. It has 40 sensors along the hand, and these sensors are wired into the nerves of an amputee’s arm. It looks as though it’s still in some staging and that they are working the kinks out, but the video shows the hand on an actual amputee and he affirms the device.

Your WTF for the day – Pussycat Claymation
It was a tough call today deciding which would be your WTF and which is just random. Stu made a good run, but I have to say this baffled me a bit more. Baffled me in the sense that there appears to be no purpose behind this. It doesn’t seem to send any messages of morality or insight.
It’s just what it is. A japanese claymation where a furry gets held captive by a pig, that the furry had previously been trying to “entice”, who later gets shredded by a wolf that had been stalking the furry to rape her. I love summarizing.

Role Model – Stu Rasmussen for Mayor
Stu seems like a stand-up guy. He cares for the small town and has been trying his best to maintain this atmosphere. He is currently on the City Council and wishes to take back the Mayor position, which he has had twice in 1988 and 1990. He’s served in varying positions for over 20 years and wants the best for his town of Silverton, Oregon. Let’s get a look at Stu.

Oh, and by the way. Stu’s a tranny. More here.

Douchiest Halloween Costume
It’s such a douche I had to make up the word douchiest. Not only are these two “playas” sporting a real iPhone with their costume, the also attached what appear to be 40″ LCD panels that are connected to the iPhones.
Really? You’ve got over $1k of electronics invested in your costume? And it’s a fudging iPhone? I would be very tempted to kick in his screen. VERY.

Fighting the norm
So I decided yesterday, rather impulsively, that I need a break from TV and games. I’ve been sucked into the world of Borderlands for over a week now, and I’m very close to beating it. But I recently realized that I allow this stuff to absorb a bit too much of my life right now. I’ve been unmotivated to play with the drums, work on 3D, read a book, etc. etc. I believe this largely stems from my TV & video game addiction.
This isn’t like a permanent lifestyle change we are talking about here. This is more of a temporary fix to get some priorities back into place. I’m hoping to get through these things: 1) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, 2) House of Leaves, 3) Catch-22, 4) get into a regular drum routine, 5) get into a regular workout routine, 6) finish at least 1 3D project, 7) write at least 3 reviews for the site. I am giving myself a 1 month hiatus on games and TV, starting yesterday. I will still be watching the random internet videos to keep the site up to date. So Trashed Ideas shouldn’t be affected by any of this. If anything, the review portion might become a more regular part of the lineup, which would be a good thing, right?
To my gaming and TV fans, I will prematurely apologize for this change. I will miss gaming with certain folks during this time, but it’s something I feel the need to do. So here’s to November 26th. Hopefully.

Paint your video?
I don’t have much information on this and how it works, although from looking at the video it doesn’t seem too in depth. They probably used a camera that watches for the green light which places an overlay of the video on top of a blank screen, which simulates the look of them painting a video on, but I think it’s pretty awesome nonetheless. Check it.

Your WTF for the day – Miss Pregnant Beauty Pageant
Not to be one-upped by our neighbors in Hungary, a radio station out in Houston, TX decided they were going to host their own beauty pageant, with of course a twist. Their twist being the contestant had to be prego. I don’t doubt there were some term requirements and such. Just strange stuff.

Role Model – Best Martial Artist EVER
Now here is a man after my own heart. Not only does he feel that holding a child by it’s feet a viable transportation method, but he also has no problem laying down the law if the kid tries to squirm with a firm punch to the side of the face. And I believe his symbol is a Tae Kwon Do flag. I want to learn with him.
